Live sound for The PeatBog Faeries

Once again we were asked to supply the P.A Rig for The Peatbog Faeries. They tour with their own front of house mixing desk, and mics and engineer, which we successfully interfaced with our system. 4 18" subs aside achieved the appropriate spl, which got the audience up and dancing straight away.

Live Sound for Juan Martin

We were really pleased to be asked to do the live sound for Juan Martin once again.
Martín has been voted one of the top three guitarists in the world in the magazineGuitar Player.
An amazing evening was enjoyed by the audience at this sold out event in Hellens Great Barn.
Our Schoeps Cmc5's were used on the acoustic guitars much to the delight of Juan. Needless to say a great sound was achieved!

Preparing Mu-Mu Audio's P.A for the summer

Its great to be able to finally set equipment up for system checking and alignment without having to break it down all the time. Mu-Mu Audio's new workshop facility is very picturesque!
This stack is a quarter of the main rig, just this seemed loud on its own!
Looking forward to providing the sound for a number of events this summer including Stage 2 at Rovin Fest, also Juan Martin and PeatBog Faeries at Hellens Manor for Versatile Arts. If you are thinking of putting on an event and consider the sound quality to be important give us a call/email.

Mu-Mu Audio's day out to an Anechoic Chamber!

Firstly we would like to say a huge thanks to Dr Tim Collins and the Department of Electronic, Electrical & Systems Engineering at Birmingham University for allowing us to come and do some loudspeaker analysis in this anechoic chamber. It is a very weird experience at first to be in this environment, very quiet, with no noticeable reflections. After a time in here, you start to hear the sound of your own head - it must be especially bad if you have tinnitus!
Anyway a successful day was had, testing the driver frequency responses, and setting crossovers, checking phase and equing the boxes for anechoic flatness. Looking forward to going back to run some further tests, maybe dispersion angles and freefield responses.

Another Microphone for Mu-Mu Audio

Mu-Mu Audio have just added a Brauner VM1 valve microphone, to our list of great microphones.

"The VM1 was the fulfillment of Dirk Brauner?s dream to build his vision of the perfect sounding tube microphone. A microphone that captures the spirit of the classic vintage tube microphones and at the same time, meets the high technical standards of today?s modern microphones. The VM1 was awarded the SSAIR Award in 1998, marking the beginning of a tradition of excellence in design philosophy, engineering and precision.
In our humble opinion, no other microphone has played a greater role in the renaissance of the tube microphone. As the archetype of all Brauner microphones it continues to serve as the inspiration for all Brauner products. The VM1 has a completely natural, modern sound with the highest resolution of sonic detail. Its transparent open character is predestined for vocal and instrumental recordings and is the first choice microphone of top artists and sound engineers all over the world."
