And Also The Trees In Lithuania

Matthew has recently returned from FOH duties for And Also The Trees at Menuo Juodaragis. Set in a National Park, by a lake in Lithuania near the second city of Kaunas. A Meyer Melodie Line Array system with Yamaha Ls9 was the provided rig, and very nice it was too.

Mu-Mu part of the Bicycle creative team.

Matthew and Paul have recently finished the Audio mixing and editing for a major new documentary focussing on the development and history of the Bicycle in the UK.

Screenings across the Country have generated an amazing response to the film.

The film company who made the film are Blue Hippo media based in Birmingham and we were asked to join the creative team to cover the audio mixing and editing after the work we carried out on a documentary about the Greenbelt Festival that we worked on last year.

We managed to make good use of our newest audio repair software as well as using some cutting edge reverb modification software, all running in Pro Tools as the host.

As always it was great working with the Blue Hippo team and we would like to congratulate Michael, Pip, Nina and the rest of the team for producing such a great film, and we are really happy to have provided the quality Audio mixing that it deserved.

You can watch a trailer at:               http://bicyclethefilm.com/

The film team for Bicycle includes Bafta winning director Michael B Clifford, editor Nina Jones and international award winning film producer Pip Piper of Blue Hippo Media.
Pips recent documentary Last Shop Standing about the UKs independent record shops featured Paul Weller, Johnny Marr and Billy Bragg and received wide critical acclaim.

Here is a quick quote from the film website.

Bicycle a 90 minute documentary, asks the question why is cycling and the bicycle back in fashion? The film, which is directed by BAFTA winning director and keen cyclist Michael B.Clifford tells the story of cycling in the land that invented the modern bicycle, its birth, decline and re birth from Victorian origins to today. The film weaves bicycle design, sport and transport through the retelling of some iconic stories and features interviews with notable contributors Sir Dave Brailsford, Gary Fisher, Chris Boardman, Ned Boulting, Sir Chris Hoy, Tracy Moseley, Mike Burrows and many more plus great archive, animation and music.  Bicycle is a humorous, lyrical and warm reflection on the bicycle and cycling and its place in the British national psyche.

Blue Hippo Quote.

After working with Mu-Mu Audio on our last feature documentary they were our first choice for the audio on Bicycle. Their attention to detail is second to none. We are not only impressed with their technical knowledge but by their ability to work alongside us to achieve the best possible results. They went well above and beyond our expectations and turned out exceptional work under very strict deadlines. Matthew and Paul are now always our first port of call for any audio issues and mixing on large feature length projects as well as smaller pieces of work. We would not hesitate in recommending their services to others.

Recording Backing tracks for Linda Tolchard August 2014

Linda asked us to record solo piano for her backing track collection. This time her pianist of choice is Liam Dunachie, equally at home performing classical scored music or improvising Jazz. The result a very sympathetic recording for Linda to sing solo to at weddings and events. Dpa 4006's in spaced AB was our preferred microphone placement.

Aisa Ijiri Recital at Three Choirs Festival at Huntingdon Hall 29th July 2014

Having worked with Aisa Ijiri at a different venue 5 years ago, we were asked to record her morning recital at the Huntingdon Hall in Worcester as part of the Three Choirs Festival. Her recital included works by Debussy, Manuel de Falla, Rachmaninov and Prokofiev. Our Dpa 4006 in spaced AB configuration were used on the Steinway C that she performed with. Some of the Romeo and Juliet pieces by Prokofiev are being used for a TV program. It was a great privilege to record such an amazing pianist.

John Cooper Clarke live in Colwall

We were asked to provide a small highquality P.A for JCC live in Colwall by Versatile Arts.
What can we say John Cooper Clarke is an absolute legend. A great evening was had by all!

Recording Backing tracks for Linda Tolchard July 2014

We were once again back in one of our favourite recording venues. This time recording Harp and flute for Linda Tolchard. Our trusty Soundfield microphone on the Harp and Dpa 4006 with instrument reflexion filter to lesson spill from the Harp on the flute. A lovely sound was achieved for Linda to perform solo at weddings and other events.
